Scottish Thanksgiving 2013

Yesterday was our dating anniversary and today was our wedding anniversary, so it made celebrating Scottish Thanksgiving today quite special. Since we had 65 people over for Thanksgiving last year, and we’ve been busy lately, we kept our celebration simple.

In the early afternoon, we planted iris bulbs and then prepared dinner. We didn’t want to stress, spend a lot of time cooking or have many leftovers so we focused on a casserole (tamale pie), a side, fresh bread, cranberry sauce, and purchased an apple pie for dessert. This was all accompanied by homemade cranberry and clementine liqueur that a friend made us for our wedding. It was a perfect evening spent playing games before tucking in to Star Wars.
