Seasons (of Love)

“And the seasons, they go round and round. And the painted ponies, they go up and down. We’re captives on a carousel of time. We can’t go back, we can only look behind from where we came, and go round and round and round in the circle game‘ (Joni Mitchell).

So, it’s been a while.

First I fell behind with blogging. Then my devices filled up. And life needed to be lived.

We’re adopting. Through the winter and spring, our evenings were filled with paperwork. We got approved to adopt and both changed jobs this summer. We also took breaks with family to revel in the sunshine and warmth we received.

But so far, and probably until we become parents, the rhythms and seasons are the same.

September means:

1. Harvests and planting in the garden

2. Preserving food

3. Taking in the autumnal beauty arriving in the woods

4. House cleaning and preparing for the closed-door season ahead.
