In August, knowing he’d soon outgrow his current hats, I crocheted a Mickey Mouse beanie for Sunshine’s upcoming autumn birthday. Last week he struggled to get his head into his only remaining hat so he gets an early gift this year. When I handed it to him and he opened it up, he excitedly said ‘Oh! It has ears’ and immediately ran to the mirror. He was already wearing a Mickey shirt that day, which made it all perfect.
I used an arran weight yarn, 5.5mm hook, and a spiral construction in a (US) single stitch.
