Flower Baby Blanket for May Baby

(I just found this unpublished in my drafts, thinking I had posted it this summer.)

When a friend and former colleague told me she was due in May, I decided to make her something woodland-inspired. I initially thought of a fox hat but wasn’t happy with what I came up with so I revisited my yarn stash and found a yellow Arran weight yarn waiting to be a flower blanket.

I didn’t have enough to double the yarn for chunky weight and end up with anything larger than a foot or so wide (I tried and frogged it), so I used it single stranded. To make the blanket large enough, I modified past the end of the Black Eyed Susan Baby Blanket pattern from Kat Goldin’s Crochet at Play.
